Join the SIEW Lab at HKU for a pivotal dialogue on the future of rural spaces in an urbanising world.

In an era of rapid global urbanization, the conservation and revitalization of rural landscapes have emerged as critical components of the planetary sustainability transition. This symposium serves as the culminating academic forum for the research project: “A Conceptual Framework for Developing Sha Lo Tung into an Insect-Themed Multifunctional Eco-park: Integrating Conservation, Research, Education, and Recreation."

The event aims to bridge the dichotomy between ecological preservation and social development, offering a rigorous platform to interrogate the mechanisms of rural transformation. By convening leading scholars, policymakers, and practitioners, the symposium will synthesize theoretical insights with practical governance strategies.
